Parasense’s web-based application makes improving energy efficiency easy.
June 2008

Headline News, a modular, web-based system, allows Parasense’s customers to analyse and monitor their product temperature, energy and refrigerant management systems – easily. It can even be extended to cover gas and water usage to give them a complete picture of their energy usage.

The system would be a welcome innovation at any time, but Parasense’s customer base, which includes major high street retailers, are finding the system particularly invaluable now. That’s because Headline News will allow them to make significant improvements in their energy usage, ideal at a time when they need to keep a closer eye on costs than ever thanks to the effects of rising fuel prices and the credit crunch. It will also prove a vital tool for companies looking to address their carbon footprint or tighten their environmental policies.

Of course, energy and refrigerant management systems already provide extensive monitoring data, so what makes Headline News different? The name says it all. Yes, all the data analysts need is already available, but when that data covers multiple sites and systems, its sheer volume makes it difficult and time-consuming to manipulate. Headline News solves that problem by bringing the data together in a manageable format so its customers don’t have to waste time and money wading through spreadsheets to get the information they need to make vital cost savings.

But Headline News doesn’t just provide the headlines, it also provides the detail, so it’s just as useful for the finance director as it is for the on-site engineer. Users simply log in to their area of the password-protected system and select the level of detail they want.

For example, the Energy Management module can be filtered to give three levels of detail. “High Level” analysis allows users to identify areas for concern at a glance. “Ground Level” analysis covers cost analysis, exception reporting and so on while “Low Level” access gives engineers the precise level of detail they need.

Meanwhile, the Refrigerant Management module offers Parasense customers environmental reassurance. That’s because it helps to fulfil the requirements of the F-Gas Regulations (EU Reg 842/2006) and allows companies to maintain system performance by analysing their consumption of the refrigerant gas at a macro or micro level. It also provides the means to easily identify sources of leaks that need immediate attention.

Headline News is a bespoke system that provides Parasense customers with the data they need in the format they need it in. It’s yet another example of the company’s aim to provide leading edge products that give added value to its customers.

Parasense has offices in Gloucester, England, and Madison, USA. It researches and develops refrigerant gas detection, energy monitoring and refrigeration and air conditioning plant systems and offers automatic monitoring and reporting solutions such as Headline News.
