ERM Energy Monitor

Sub-metering is the main focus of the ERM. With its multiple CT inputs and 3 phase voltage reference module, the ERM is able to carry out direct power measurement of numerous power circuits, 3 phase or single phase.

The monitor is also equipped with two meter interfaces to enable the monitoring of electricity, gas, water, oil, and a number of other meter types via pulsed outputs.

The capabilities of the ERM can be extended by incorporating additional management modules, allowing for larger applications.

Standard Features

Override Input - Configurable input signal to create a specified control function.

Fault Relay Output Signal - In the event of loss of power or a critical fault detected in the system.

Communication Interfaces - RS232 interface is provided for remote communications using a modem. An Ethernet interface is provided for connection to local or wide area networks, it also provides access for the Parasense configuration software. CAN interface is used to connect to a variety of displays and management modules to further enhance system functionality.

Application features

Legacy Product Interfaces - One serial port is provided for the integration of Parasense legacy products such as Smart 'E' Energy Monitor, and Refrigerant Monitors.

Sensor Networks - Two independent sensor interfaces are available for use, giving a total network capacity of up to 40 sensors.

Meter Interfaces - Two independent meter interfaces are provided for either pulse or 'dry contact' meters. The interface is designed to operate at pulse frequencies of up to 10 Hz.

Direct Power Monitoring - Power is measured from six to eighteen 3-phase (or 18 to 54 single phase) circuits. The voltage component is measured using a voltage reference and the individual circuit current is measured using ARTs or SARTs. Current ranges are catered for from 3 to 2500 Amps. kW, kWhrs, kVA, power factor, current, voltage and frequency are also available as instantaneous or logged values. These features are used for sub-metering, load shaping and power quality assessment.
